Welcome!

Angelina County Cooperative Early College High School (ACC ECHS) is an educational collaboration between Angelina College and Central, Diboll, Hudson, Huntington, Lufkin, & Zavalla Independent School Districts for the benefit of all students in Angelina County.  ACC ECHS opened its doors to its first cohort of students in the fall of 2016.

ACC ECHS will be accepting applications, through your home campus counselor, for the 2018 - 2019 school year, beginning in January. Please contact your home district's high school counselor for more information.

Mission Statement

The mission of Angelina County Cooperative Early College High School is to create a countywide learning community that not only inspires high expectations, supports cognitive challenges, and encourages self-discovery and civic responsibility to maximize individual potential, but also develops “future ready” students by providing them with meaningful experiences in their selected programs of study, providing challenging academic and technical programs, and giving the tools necessary to compete in high-demand, high-wage, and highly skilled occupations in a global workforce and/or postsecondary education.
On behalf of the Angelina County Superintendents,

"The Angelina County Superintendents believe that the Angelina County Cooperative Early College High School will enable more students, particularly first generation, low-income and minority students, to experience rigorous high school and college coursework that leads to improved outcomes. When students see that the coursework they are taking in High School has a 'means' to the 'end', they are much more likely to enjoy and stay in school to complete a certificate and/or 2 - 4 year degree. We believe this employability factor in itself will help drive the future economy in Angelina County along with attracting economic development potential for our county and districts.

The fact we are working together with Angelina College as 'ONE' entity helps each of us create a better economy of scale, therefore helping taxpayers and business in 'ALL' of our districts. Current data shows that Early College Students are outperforming their peers nationwide:
·        90% graduate high school vs. 78% of students nationally
·        94% earn free college credit while in high school
·        30% earn an Associate's degree or other postsecondary credential while in high school

We as educational leaders have agreed and understand that we can keep 'doing' school the way we always have or try something different that really benefits our students."

"Angelina College is pleased to support the Angelina County Cooperative Career and Technical Education Early College High School.  Angelina College and the six public independent school districts in Angelina County recognize the potential benefits of collaborating to enable students to blend high school and college work so they can graduate with a high school diploma and an associate degree or 60 college credit hours toward a baccalaureate degree."

Dr. Michael Simon
President
Angelina College
"I am extremely honored to be leading the six public school districts of Angelina County, Texas in this cooperative endeavor, to provide all Angelina County students with the most innovative and groundbreaking collaborative school in the state of Texas. Never before have six different school districts come together collaboratively to offer programs of study that meet the diverse needs of all students. Angelina County Cooperative Early College High School, in collaboration with Angelina College, is an amazing opportunity for the students of Angelina County to earn an Industry Certification, an Associate’s degree, or up to 60 college hours, while still in high school, with no waiting list and completely free of charge."
